ESG – Protecting the Ecosystem

Jala Group also supports comprehensive Fisheries Improvement Projects (FIPs) that are designed to bring fisheries up to a level consistent with these internationally  recognized  sustainability  standards.  We  are  part  of  Indonesia’s comprehensive purse seine tuna FIP in Kendari, South East Sulawesi, in partnership with AP2HI and International Pole and Line Federation (IPNLF).

A top priority of our work is addressing the persistent challenges of illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing. Together with our association, we align seafood supply chain players, such as international buyers to  domestic processors, to press for policies that address IUU fishing.

Jala  Group’s  supplying  vessels  are  fully  comply  with  the  International  Marine Mammal Project (IMMP) standards. Since 1982, the IMMP by Earth Island Institute (EII) has been a global leader in protecting whales and dolphins and their ocean habitats and preventing tens of thousands of dolphin deaths annually.
